The Discovery Studio

Strive for Excellence through Purposeful Learning

Discovery Studio is where young heroes develop the discipline to work hard, tackle complex challenges, and learn how to teach themselves. In an age of AI when information is instant and tools are powerful: what matters most is not memorization, but the ability to think critically, persist through difficulty, and take ownership of one’s learning.

Discovery learners:

  • Master core skills in reading, writing, and math through modern, adaptive technology: building both competence and confidence as independent learners.
  • Track academic growth through annual MAP assessments in Reading, Language, Math, and Science. MAP is an adaptive, nationally normed assessment that measures individual growth over time and helps guides ensure each learner is appropriately challenged.
  • Develop the discipline to teach themselves by setting goals, managing time, seeking feedback, and persisting through challenge. These are the skills that are essential for success in middle school, high school, college, and beyond.
  • Build critical and systems thinking through Socratic discussions, the study of civilization, and project-based learning that require learners to analyze ideas, defend reasoning, and engage thoughtfully with others.
  • Dive deeply into interdisciplinary studies including arts and design, biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, finance, and psychology through immersive quests and public exhibitions.
  • Prepare for the real world through apprenticeships that demand professionalism and accountability.
